The 7th International Sándor Ferenczi Conference was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2009, October 21 to 24 in the building of the Asociación Psicoanalítica de Buenos Aires. The structure of the meeting was comprised of panels, posters and small discussion groups. There were 180 participants from 20 countries and 50 papers were presented. The theme of this meeting was Introjection, Transference and the Analyst in the Contemporary World, an ample topic, both commemorating Ferenczi's important 1909 paper, as well as presenting a forum of thought of the present conditions of Psychoanalysis. The interrelatedness of our internal world and external reality is one of the main issues of modern Psychoanalysis. Renowned specialists who were part of the Conferenczi were Carlo Bonomi, Franco Borgogno, Luis Martin Cabre, Horacio Etchegoyen, Jay Frankel, Giselle Galdi, Badaracco García, Peter Hoffer, Juan Pablo Jiménez, José Jiménez Avello, Judith Meszaros, Rogelio Sosnik, Dra. Sabsay de Foks (Federación Latinoamericana de Historia del Psicoanálisis), Dr. Alfredo Painceira and Rodríguez S., among others.
