Sandor Ferenczi Cultural Association was founded on October 9th, 2008 with the purpose of encouraging scientific exchange and spreading the ideas of this outstanding psychoanalyst, who was one of the first to consider the subject of trauma both as an individual and a collective level in the field of Psychoanalysis. Our Honorary President is Dr. R. Horacio Etchegoyen, who was President of the International Psychoanalytic Association, and a Scientific Commitee integrated by renowned scholars in this field. In 2009 we organized the 7th International Sándor Ferenczi Conference that was held in Buenos Aires, October 21 to 24, which was sponsored by IPA, FEPAL, the Department of Mental Health of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Buenos Aires and the IUSAM of the Psychoanalytic Association of Buenos Aires (APdeBA). The aim of this conference was to encourage scientific exchange. There were 180 participants from 20 countries at the Conferences and 50 papers were presented. Our goal is the organization of scientific interchange on these topics. The Association has, up until now, 27 members, a number that increases every day.
